The Issue
The build-up of hardened cement deposits, wastewater sludge and repeated blockages in vital extraction pipelines were causing costly shutdowns and down time for the client. Prior to Clearflow being engaged, water blasting had failed to dislodge the deposits. Replacement pipeline would cost $40,000 – $50,000.
The Solution
After lengthy analysis and consultation, purpose-specific pigs were commissioned. These bi-directional hardened and impregnated pigs were strong enough for dislodging the concrete and flexible enough to move through numerous bends. Removal of hardened cement and wastewater sludge resulted in a 15 percent increase in production for each cycle and negated the need for replacement pipes.
