Solomon Water invited Clearflow Australia to participate in a competitive tender for the initial cleaning of 6 out of 30 fresh water bores that comprise the Honiara water supply system. The system was commissioned 25 years ago and had not been subsequently been cleaned. There was evidence of a marked degrading of water pressures and volumes.

After extensive problem analysis and consultation acid cleaning was determined as the most suitable process and appropriate equipment was designed and commissioned. The bores were successfully cleaned and water quality and flows were restored. This project was unique for Clearflow as it involved the mentoring and supervision of a national workforce who had not previously been exposed to any cleaning or maintenance process using acid.
